Who is going to go out in this crap??? Just came in with the dog and it is pouring!!!!
I walked up on 5 gobblers a few evenings ago and would have had one if I had the shotgun.....I think I will go turkey hunting and do a little scouting......
Anybody else changing plans due to the weather???

I was down to south Bristol this am and saw nothing . My son saw over a dozen deer where he was at .
I was in Geneseo this afternoon and saw 1 buck ,4doe and 3 fawns . The buck was a small racked 6 point . He went by the stand at about 7 yards and headed toward my scent wick . We left some vegitation up so we wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb in the stand . It was in tha way and I couldn't shoot . He walked away and I wasn't about to take a Texas Heart Shot ! ;D

I will be braving the elements. My time in the woods is limited so I have to take every opportunity. The Gortex will be on and the safety strap cinched extra tight.

Well how did everyone do?  The rain and wind was brutal but I did get out and do some scouting when it wasnt raining hard..All my stuff is soaked and will need washed before the next time. I bumped quite a few deer and found a couple spots that appear to be hot...Rubs scrapes and tracks everywhere!!! Cant wait to hunt these spots, but they are really thick and very very wet right now..Have to do some wading to get to them but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. The only problem is.......the long range forecast is saying that next weekend will be similar to this weekend!!!1 ARRGGGGG Looks like a day off is in order... |
