Ok the weather man down here is calling for some nasty nasty weather in the Southern Zone. 1 to 3 inches of snow/slush with 25 to 30mph winds with gusts up to 40 mph and then possibly another 1 to 3 overnight. That is for Tuesday and continuing until Wednesday. I have Wednesday off but have alot of errands. I can hunt the morning or the afternoon this week but not both. My stand is only 8 feet up with some cover so I am not worried about the wind.
What do you guys think? Morning or afternoon hunt?

I would choose afternoon hunt on Wed after the storm passes. Wind may be up , but deer should be on the move after the weather and there may be fresh snow on the ground. I am off Friday which is !!!! Halloween!!!!
Good luck

I would say afternoon as well.
Today our weather was rotten. It was very windy and lots of cold rain. I saw two doe this morning, and missed a 35 yard shot. (she took a step just as I released). They were eating oats.
This evening I hunting a protected hill area that had reduced winds with the hope that something would come through to bed in the area. I was right just the wrong type of deer I was looking for. At 5:00 a 8 point came through at 20 yards. At 5:30 a 5 point came in at 25 yards and bedded until I climbed down. The key to that hunt was the spot, the deer wanted out of the cold as well, just I have no tag.
Neither buck made any type of "rut" chasing or seeking behavior.
My vote would be the afternoon.

Well the weather changed here - mainly heavy rain with a few flakes mixed in. The wind is nasty as well gusting over 40mph. It is suppose to subside a little tonight and be snow showers in the morning. Then the afternoon is going to get ugly with rain snow mix again. My wife gets home at 6am from work so she is going to wake me to see if I want to try and go out in the am. I think I worked it so I can hunt both but it depends just how nasty it is. The stand I am going to is not rotected from the wind but it is low. I'm going to play it by ear but thanks for the opinions and reasonings. They make sense but the weatherman must've hit the wrong pictures on the dart board when he predicted what was to transpire.
