Back to this topic-I got a call yesterday from the owner of the gun club that another meeting w/DEC was going to be set up for us in early fall. He wanted to know if we were interested in coming. It seems to be that more land owners in our general area are practicing QDM. I just read an article about this subject and it stated that you have to watch the inferior bucks that get to 2-3 years of age that slip under the antler size and breed does. They state you have to cull the deer? So now I have to look for bigger deer with small racks and get them out of the breeding population? Any thoughts?

go out hunt and enjoy yourself. You are taking the fun out of it. Shoot a deer you want to take.

I can see both ways, but from a genetics perspective it makes sense. You don't want a small racked, dominant buck breeding a majority of the does, it will only produce more small racked bucks.

Never had a problem enjoying deer hunting even on the nastiest of days! I have read that is also true with fishing. i agree with both of you.
