Did not get a ton of time to hunt this season as I was on the road for bisness and traveled about 2 weeks of the season to Michigan as well. Only managed a few days to hunt and the birds were henned up bad. I had a few new spots to hunt this year mostly unpestered spots and it was fairly refreshing to hunt in that manner.
I was able on the last day after downpors in the morning I went out around 8:00. At 10:36 I dropped the hammer on a bird and he fell to eat dirt. It was the longest shot I have every made on a turkey at 65 yards but he fell stone cold over. It was the closest I could get the birds to come in. I had my 3 1/2 in Remington 870 with me, had I had a regular 3 inch gun I would have never even attempted the shot. I watched tthe birds for 2.5 hours all 6 of them that is, 4 toms and 2 hens. They were very quiet with some strutting.
All in all it worked out well for the season. God provided some great hunts this year to me and I am thankful.
Looking forward to Bass season and maybe catching a few pike here and there. Can't wait to hunt deer this year as well. I have a bunch of new spots to hunt and my new wife will be joining me should be great.
Hope your seasons went well. Sorry I have not been around much, planning to get married, traveling, etc,..... its been busy Jon

Congrats BSJ....I got you message and keep forgetting to call you back when I get the chance I will call...I have been real busy with turkey hunting, work and siding the house... How big was your bird?? I had a great season and worked birds most times I went out. Got one the 3rd day and passed some jakes...I got out more than any other year and scored a new place to hunt also... That new place you got to hunt that you told me about with all the turkey's and there are big deer there by the looks at the sheds you showed me...You should do good there... We will have to do some fishing but dont think I will have time until after July 4...Siding is going kinda slow. You probably wont have time either. Did you hunt in Michigan??? I hear it is a great place....I plan to go there sometime. ;D ;D TTYL

Contender, Fishing on July 4th will not work this year, that will be smack dab into the honeymoon. Got your invitation last night won't be able to make this year because of the honeymoon.
Going to miss some of bass season but will be around for sure. I never ended up hunting in Michigan becasue of the cost, crazy for out of state. I also just plain did not have the time. Planning wedding, kids, traveling has had me just plain busy. I have been gone so much I hired a babysitter to watch my house and stay there just to have someone there.
My scheudle is going to slow up dramatically in July so I am looking forward to that.
CJ yup getting married. She is a simply wonderful lady. Have never ever been happier in my life. I can openly say I ma looking forward to getting married. We are planning for more children, just as many as God will give us.
She took a hunter safety course and hunted turkeys with me a bit this year and loved it. She loves to fish, go to dirt races and has expressed she can't wait to hunt deer. She even has encouraged me to get into dirt racing. But I am holding off on that as it is too expensive.
I gain a step daughter in this as well. Great kid, wonderful spirt and attitude, simply a reflection of her Mom. I will have 3 girls at current then, 13, 12 and 8. Have retroted the house so they all have a room.
Take it easy Jon
