Only Grand Slams on my plate this spring will be at Denny's! Got another kid on the way beginning of May so gonna have to take it a day at a time. Unemployment began Monday so I'll have the time, just a matter of using it wisely.

OUr club had thingy kirby as a guest speaker in feb. He founded quaker boy game calls. He talked about his grand slams. 51 grand slams. In my opinion if your going to get a grandslam you either need a butt load of cash, or really know some people. Your talking thousands if you get a guide just for a florida bird.
Me, I will do my best to lure in one. If it works out, great. If not its still okay. It feels awesome to be in the woods by the time turkey opens. Any of whom decide to go let me reccomend to you the thermocell.

im not excited about it yet but I will be out there trying yet again to get one. All of my buddies have birds and I got the assist last year but Im still birdless after 5 or is it 6 years now. It os fun being out there though.
I just went shooting Sunday with a few guys out at one of his hunting camps. Just took the rifle and my new .22. Had a blast and we decided to join or local County Sportsmans Assoc. to have access to the ranges. For $35 a year, you cant go wrong. So we are planning on a few more target shooting outings just to get out and have some fun. .22 ammo is cheap enough at Wally World so it should be fun.

Here is a question:
Has anyone harvested a bird with the bow? Or have you attemted to harvest a bird with the bow?
I personally want to get one with the gun this year first. Then with my second tag bust out the bow. We will see last year I got close, but im dying just to get back in the woods.

Havent gotten any birds with either weapon, although I have had opportunities with the bow in the fall while on stand deer hunting, I just never took the shot. Don't know why, but I just didn't. Guess I am waiting to call in that big tom with the gun during the spring season for my first.

I hope to do my muzzleloading shotgun and bag one this spring. They are on the move now. I also bought a new remington import 12 gauge side by side I hope to inititate this season also. Such a nice day today, but I have such a nasty cold, I am not going anywhere. No grand slams here, just a grand time will be had.

I was discussing with a buddy the other day. How different the rush is during turkey versus deer. In deer it seems its quick and over fast. But with the birds you are going and going with the adrenaline. Until you either get one or they bust you, the blood is pumpin' hard.
