I'm all set for April 25th. Zach and his dad are coming up that weekend! As you remember Zach got his first deer last bow season, now we go for the Turkey. Should be a great time! Hope everybody is well, Burt

Good luck...Keep us posted on how Zach does. It would be a real treat for you to be out there in the woods when Zach bags his first turkey...Are you going to be calling for him?

I try and get out every youth season. Even if you can't find a kid to take its great to go out and be in the woods just to hear the birds. Its funny every youth weekend I hear the birds without fail, come opening weekend its another story.

Hey, We came close but no turkey! I got up there on Friday morning and we roosted 4 toms within 5oyards of the blind. Zach and his dad got in late friday. We were in the blind with decoys set up by 5:15. Had them gobble on the roost but before they flew down a bunch of hens came by below us and all the toms flew down to them. Sunday was wet and we saw a few hens that was it. We caught some trout on the Cohocton river Sat afternoon, It was a great time!

Hey Zem, Where did you land a job? I've been real busy also, may try to get up in a week or two to hunt. My fields are all planted with oats this year. The farmer left me about an acre of field to plant myself for a food plot, still deciding what goes in. We planted 100 crab apple seedlings along with 100 Douglas fir. Hope all is weel, Burt

Yea burt I did 100 crab apples, 100 firs, and 100 spruces. Did you get them from the state? The crab apples are hard to distinguish from regular brush i hope they make it.

K, Yes I did. They looked real good this year. I did this about 3 years ago and plated 250 white spruce and about 175 made it! I enjoy planting something every year. Sounds like you had your work cut out fir you? Yes the crabapple does look like brush.
