Well I'm sorry to say that the buck I had pics of for the last four years got shot on opening morning - only about 75 yards from where I was sitting. I was in the right spot but some one else was too. The guy that shot it is my neighbors brother in law. He's 40 some years old and this is the first buck he's ever shot. Congrats to him - but sucks for me, its like I lost an old friend..LOL. I'll post up the pics of him when they get them developed. (I didn't get any pics of him with my camera.) So after I found out he got shot I started hunting state land up the road from me. Finally connected on one Wednesday morning. It was the first buck I've seen since opening day, and being I only have a few more days to hunt before the season is over- I decided to take this guy. He's a nice 2 and a half y/o 8 point. weight was right near 150 dressed out. He'll be some good vittles. This buck was taken first thing on opening day. The kid in the pic was funny. He was like - "Can I get in the picture too?" - I said sure boy get right down there with him. He was happier than the shooter.. Heres a nice 10 point my buddy got with a bow right before the gun season. And this is his sister in law and brother - who were able to connect on a great 8 point during gun season. Well now I'm looking forward to muzzleloader season. I still have some cams out - waiting to see what makes it thru the season.

Congrats Dave to you and all. They are all great bucks. I have shot a 9 point with my bow and a doe with the gun. Did you see the pic of my buck on the bow hunting page?? It was 180 pounds thick chest.

Great deer Dave. I first started hunting in German on the State Land out there with my Dad and my Uncle. I always knew there were some great deer out that way. I shot my first buck out there and several doe. Congrats to you and the family members on a great season.

I spent almost 5 hours in Geneseo this afternoon and didn't see squat . Very few tracks in the snow . It was a bit nippy but the wind wasn't bad .
