The 2nd rut?

Gang,
Being I will be hunting next weekend what do you know about the 2nd rut? Does it happen,
is it as intense as the first and will there be chasing going on? We have seen new sign in the last week and it is about a month later now and if there is a 2nd rut it should be in full swing shortly.

I have no Idea the first rut was so different this year that I'm completely lost.It seems to me that everything was WAY LATE so I got no clue sorry

I have never seen it as intense as the first one but I usually see some activity the last weekend of the season. Yesterday , I found some really hot scrapes that had tracks all around them. Some open areas had tracks of running deer, usually 2 sets which I assumed was a buck chasing a doe since I didnt any boot tracks the entire day. I followed the running tracks and they didnt go far and usually came back to the opening.

Just hope you have a hot doe in the area that might attract a buck. Maybe some doe in heat scent might work.
