My wife gave birth to our first child on 11/2! He is awesome. Congrats...There is nothing like that experience in the world. Back to the world of hunting... I put some meat in the freezer last weekend by filling an archery antlerless tag. Remarkably, it was on the ground (again). I am not sure that it is a good thing, but this is the 4th deer that I have taken on the ground with my bow since 2002. Sometimes I will climb down from the stand if the deer are not moving. It has paid off thus far, although my preference is to shoot from the stand. Again, congrats... I picked up some Pyrodex pellets today. Have any of you guys used Triple 7? My buddy swears by it. However, I want to start simple until my confidence is built up and I can experiment in the off season. 777 also comes in pellets if you so desire...No measuring needed. You might want to give the loose powder a try though down the road. The pyrodex pellets will work well for you for now but in the future you may want to load up an amount of powder that you cannot duplicate with pellets...

I got the conversion to 25 acp and it shoots great. Dumps em on top of each other at 100 yards. I was planning on getting an Encore this season, but I ended up buying a brand new bow instead. I have heard about those conversions to a smaller primer with the Encore. Can you post the website or address on the company that does those. Thanks. P.S. What did it end up costing you?

I started out yrs ago with a .54 cal Hawkens, bought a .50 cal Knight in-line a few yrs back, this yr I traded up to a new TC Omega. This is the best shooting muzzleloader I have ever fired. Right now I am using 90gr Pyrodex (3 pellets) and 260 gr sabot(TC lead h/p) 2" groups at 100yds. I know it will group better, but have not had the time to fine tune it before the season started this past week, I am going to try loose powder and jump into the 300+ gr bullet class, I am told they shot well and stabilize much better. Will keep you all posted. FDXX75
