Hey guys I tried a little experiment. I took 6 charges of triple 7 loose ffg and measured 90 grains by volume. I did this 6 times and used the average and weighed some charges. This came out to be 68.2 by weight. I poured some charges with my lyman dps II and took them to the range to try them. I noticed a significant difference in accuracy. At 50 yards you could cover 5 shots with a quarter and at 100 they were all within 1 1/2 inches. I plan to continue use weight and not volume. If you really want to tighten some groups from your muzzleloader and you use loose powder I suggest you give this a try.
