Thanks Ed. I started wirth the recommended load. I have never used above 100 grains of anything I ever used whether it was my omega encore or sidekick. It has a 28 inch barrel which is supposed to help burn it. I will no doubt go with 90 to 100 grains depending on how it likes it. I havent tried the triple 7 yet. I have almost a pound of ffg 777. The easy remove breech plug was very sweet. Made for swabbing/cleaning between shots very easy. Gun felt good was balanced well and not a lot of recoil with the limbsaver pad. I got my yard cleaned up today so I can go play more. Hopefully one evening this week I will return to the range. I finished paying off my new old truck today so I can give my daughter back her car even though she does not even have a license yet. I hope to have it in the road by tuesday so then I am more free. Not wanting to drive her car anymore than I have to. Anyway I am very pleased with the triumph

The only reason I brought that up was because I have seen posts on other sites where guys want to use 150 gr of powder thinking more is better . With most rifles , the groups can tighten up when droping down from a maximum charge .

no doubt. I guess they think it takes a cannon to take a whitetail. Bigger better faster mentality.

After the sun came out this afternoon I packed up and went to the range. I took the triumph and my remington 7600 synthetic in 270. I loaded the triumph with 100 grains of ffg loose triple 7 and a 250 grain 45 caliber hornady xtp in a harvestor crush rib sabot. At 50 yards it was high and right a bit but shoots them all in the same area of about an inch with 5 shots. I adjusted to an inch and a half high at 50. I could not get to the 100 yard range because it was occupied. Nect time. I switched to jim shockey gold ffg and shot 100 grains also. The shockey gold seemed to be a bit snappier and hit in the same place as the triple 7. When I hunt with it, I plan to use 250 grain shockwaves which are also made by hornady for T/C. I am very pleased with the triumph. I never did fire the 270 but next time I will fire some 130 grain winchester/nosler 130 grain ballistic silver tips in front of 55 grains of IRM 4831.

Well after searching for a month for one!!! Gander had two base models a couple weeks ago, Bass Pro had none, I called my local thingys and they just got one in. AP Realtree camo synthetic with the weathershield. It is now mine. I have not shot it yet I need to match it up with a good scope first. Gun has got a great feel to it.

You will not be disappointed with it Fletch. I have the basic one but it shoots well. Blued barrel and black synthetic stock, but it dies the job. Loooking forward to carrying it this fall. I put a bushnell banner 3x9x40 on mine works well. Best of luck with yours

I am looking forward to shooting it. I just ordered a Nikon scope for it. Then I need to get a base and rings. What type did you use?

I did finally get this gone sighted in a couple weeks ago. What a joy to shoot!! I am using 150g of 777 and 250g shockwaves. shooting great groups. I did have a tough time getting the first sabot in and had to clean it out good. Then patch between every shot. It sure is tight. The Nikon I topped it with is real nice also. I did read that the yellow petal sabots are not as tight as the black I am using. Next year I will try them.

I have had a Triumph for 2 yrs now and love it. So easy to clean. so light. I use 250 grain hornady lockons with 150 grains of pyrodex, and get awsome groups out to 150 yrds have not taken it past that yet because I do not have many shots over 50 yrd so see no use in taking it out that far. I killed a doe 1st day this yr with a 60 yrd shot to the top of the head, and a 170 lbs 8 point (17 inch spread ) with a 70 yrd shot to the lungs and heart. I have not taken my shotgun out for 2 seasons now it shoots so good. Would definitely recommend it to any one.
