I just got back from my local gun shop. Thry had gotten in a new T/C Triumph. It is the new line they came out with this year. I liked how it felt, but did not like the easy remove breech plug or the way it locked up. The best way I could describe it was a cross between the encore and omega. It was well balanced in my hands and felt very good at my shoulder. I doubt I will have to have one, at least not for a while lol

What did you not like about the breech plug? I wish I didn't have to use a tool on the Pro Hunter...

was tough to get in and out the 90 degree twist was not just that. I had to wiggle it back and forth and get it lined up just right in order to get it out and it was worse putting it back in. I am sure with some practice it would be easier when you got used to it. Not saying I wouldnt buy one cuz I am sure thinking about it. Otherwise I like the gun. The lock up was similar to an omega. When you close up the barrel, you have to manually click the trigger guard back to lock it similar to how you haver to push the breech back up on an omega.

I have really had my eye on this gun. I have not had one in my hands yet. I will check Gander tonight. What was the price tag on it. What material and barrel finish?

Nice looking firearm...I would still opt for the Encore Pro Hunter front stuffer though...I like the switch barrel option. Although, it is twice the cost of the Triumph.

I got my state return yesterday. So, I went and picked up the triumph. I started a hunter safety class tonight which ends on Saturday. After class Saturday morning, I plan to shoot it. I will inform you of how it shoots.

went to the range yesterday after class. The triumph worked very well. Out of the box with a bushnell banner 3x9x40 scope on it I hit a 3 inch dot on the target. I was shooting 120 grains of Jim Shockey gold from american pioneer powder in ffg which is like pebbles. Anyway it consistently was hitting the dot at 25 yards. When I moved to 50 yards it opened up and moved up about 3 inches and to the right about 4. But it also lost the accuracy. I cut the powder back to 100 grains and it tightened up again. I was shooting 250 grain shockwaves and Hornady xtp in 45 caliber 250 grain. The groups werer about 4 inches. I am not totally done with it yet some powders and bullets to try to make it better. But I must say for the first time out of the box I was imnpressed.

That was a smart thing to do cutting back the powder . A lot of folks would have up'ed the load . I found that if I went above 90 gr of 777 the groups went to heck . More isn't better . Enjoy the new toy !
