Went to the gun shop a couple weeks ago and picked up the gun that I was thinking about purchasing for a couple days...It is a used Ruger Single Six in 22lr/22wmr with a 6 1/2" barrel. It came with both cylinders. Here are some pics... The only real noticeable wear to the gun is on the bottom of the grip. There are a few scratches. I brought it home and gave it a good scrubbing and it looks pretty darn good...Especially for $289...I can't wait to shoot this little 22...I can already see upgrades in my near future...Springs, polishing and smoothing things out internally...It's a sickness. But, I believe that I am in good company... I decided to refinish the grip instead of purchasing a new one. Here is the finished product... I learned a few things along the way. #1. Always use a lint free cloth to apply the finish. (I thought I was using one ) #2. Do not apply the finish too thick or it will run. (Yup, know about that one) #3. The 13th coat looks a ton better than the 2nd coat. #4. There's no rush. These pics do not do the grip justice...The finish is so much deeper than the pics will show. So far, I have left the high gloss finish in tact...I like it that way...At least for now. I applied 13 coats of Tru-Oil along the way and then applied two coats of carnauba wax.

Thanks...I think I've found a job for myself...Rescuing all the used single action Rugers from the gun stores around me and fixing them up. Now to look for a used 357mag Blackhawk... ;D

Installed the Wolff spring kit a couple weeks ago...It is amazing how much of a difference a couple springs make. The trigger pull is lighter and feels much smoother...That was $10 well spent...The next upgrade might be new front and rear sites...
