I bought a couple of Thermacells last year and used them hunting this year . They work great repelling mosquitos . The company makes a refill kit that supposedly attracts deer . I picked up a pack at Gander Mt on sale for $3.95 . Then I called my son and told him to grab a couple and he could give them to me for my Birthday ! Oh yeah , the refill kits for deer are called "Thermascent" ...........

Hmmm....Let us know how they work out...Hopefully you don't find yourself the love interest of a rut crazed buck...Would make one interesting hunting video.

One thing I found out is you need to 1st buy a kit that has an adaptor , 3 pads and a butane cartridge . You put 1/2 oz of scent in a baggie and one pad and let it soak . You clip the adaptor over the scent grill and slip the pad in , turn it on and click the Ignitor . The kit goes for $8.50 at Wally World ......... I'll be trying it out next month .

Maytom - They are probably out of them but check your local WalMart , D*I*C*Ks , Gander Mt , etc for end of season clearance . You might get lucky and find one real cheap .

eddie any luck with the thermacent thing.does it still repel bugs and call in deer? The Thermascent doesn't repel mosquitos . It's an attractant for deer . And ............. after all the discussion , I never tried the Thermascent as I used the traditional stuff .
