oct 19 2006 went out and put tree stand 4 in a spot i have been saving for the right time. waited for the rain to slow down and i headed out to put up stand #4 in a downpour because the rain never letup . i got in the stand around 4:30 about 5:15 i here a branch break behind me turned to the right to see a nice 8 point buck pawing the ground then he reaches up grabs limb above his head and starts chewing it by this time i have my bow in hand and i am ranging distance turns out to be 41 yards the deer kept looking over his shoulder behind him then he turns and starts quartering away i get my grunt tube and made a couple grunts it never stopped him the neighbor has told me he has seen a real big buck crossing the road right around there i was wondering if that 8 pointer thought i was the big buck the way he moved on his way when i grunted to him anyhow i watched as he disappeared over a hill so i continue set their this time i hear some leaves rustling to my right he comes a coyote right by my tree stand this is the third one i have had within 15 yards of my tree stand this year well by this time its starting to get dark so i call it a day and head home in the rain hoping for dryer tomorrow

Why not shoot the coyote . They may be keeping the deer from coming your way .......

yesterday got with in 16 yards of a button buck watched for a while let him go his own way maybe in a couple of years when he grows a rack not much else happens. today got out early sat in the rain{i guess durning bow season i'm not smart enough to get out of the rain] as it light i watched a racoon mill around for awhile . every thing seemed so peaceful untill this red squirll jumped on my arm i about s**t myself not once but twice finally he left me alone sat there untill about 9:00 had enough wind & rain for one morning

finally got one last night his rack is not big but unique he has 8 points i was running late yesterday got in my stand about 3:00 the stand i sat in was set up for morning hunts because i work 12 hour nights an i can get to it quick in the morning with little noise got to my stand set up some sent pads with golden estrus was in stand about an hour when i herd him coming walked right up trail he cought a wif of that sent pad walked right to my treestand he was 10 yards when i stopped himtook shot dropped right in his tracks i will get a picture and try to post it

11/18 rain or not i went out got wet but filled one of my doe permits with a nice doe 11/19 went out got wet again seen a coyote 11/20 walked around for a little while kicked up 4 deer did not get a shot but enjoyed every minute i work 6pm-6am im always beat when i leave work in the morning but as soon as i put on my camo i have all kinds energy how weird happy hunting guys
