Had to work for the opener but was off today. 30 degree temp change and 35 to 40 mph winds kept me indoors today. Plus it rained a bunch the last week and water is high. May get out Sunday.

My neighbor headed out on Sunday to our usual spot along with about 25 other anglers on the nice sunny day. He casted a few spinners in black, silver, red, and white. Finally the chartruese (sp?) or neon green color caught their eye. He brought 2 13 incehers to shore and missed on 4 more hits. They had just stocked on Friday so the action was good. We plan on trying to get out on Wednesday if the weather cooperates. I'll post if we get out.

Well I got out Wednesday to help relieve some stress but it ended up being a stressful trip. Made it to the stream fine and tied on a nice new spinner. Fourth cast and I am hung up on something on the other side and can't get it free. 4lb test spiderwire just isn't that strong. SO i retie and move down to another pool. I was flip casting and a 20+ mph gust of wind takes my line and spinner up into a tree and wraps around a branch 40 times. I'm staring at the branch and I say, it's dead so if I tug on it quickly I may save it. HAHAHAHAHA Well the branch came down and when it hit the water the line broke and I watched my spinner float on past still wrapped snuggly on the branch. Most people wopuld have called it a day at this point but it had only been 10 minutes since my arrival. Yeah you can laugh, I am!! So I retie once again and move to a more open area with a deeper pool. I fish for about half an hour with no hitches and then I go to make another cast and I end up cast really short. I look down and I have a loop coming off my reel that the line caught on as I casted. I start to unravel only to realize it is all the way at the beginning where it is tied to the spool. It's an ultra light small reel so I keep taking line off to fix it and the wind starts to increase. You guessed it. I make it to the end and start reeling back in and I have a nice birds nest. I break off the nest and put it in my vest and retie one more time. I go to cast to a nice riffle acros the stream and my lure dives downward and slaps the water about 15 feet short of where I was casting. I look down and yup, I had taken most of my line off the reel and had about 15 feet total to cast with. I finally packed it in and the score was Mother Nature 4, me zippo!!!

Zemmer, Where were you fishing...I could use some spinners!!! ;D
Went out opening of trout with Buckshotjon...Water was real high and muddy so it was a bust....We did cook some good venison on the shore and had a good outing and an excellent nap after the trip. I tripped over my tackle box and almost kicked the whole thing in the raging water....I made a dive for it and saved it all!!! Camera ,binocs, and all the breakfast fixings were in there so it was quite the save.....Tried Springwater creek once since then but didnt get anything....Whenever I get time to go, it rains and churns the creeks up again...
Been hammering the Bullheads on Conesus in front of my house and also caught about a 20 pound carp....What an ugly fish!!!All went back as I hate to clean fish!!
Good luck.....I love the spring and the turkey's are going wild.
