The bigger question: Why aren't they in the deer yard?

Nope, never. Unless you were hanging out of your bedroom or truck window you would never see this. That is not sporting to me.

Yes I have hunted the Adirondacks, still doesn't make a difference to me. I can't see shooting a deer that is up to it's neck in snow, not sporting to me. If you needed the meat for survival sure but not to fill a tag and add some more venison to the freezer.

I sure wouldn't shoot it . It would be pretty unsportsmanlike to shoot deer like that . Kinda like shooting a deer in a pond / lake . To each his own !

I know it is a hypothetical but I would not be out hunting in the snow that deep. It would be a pregnant dog to get around in for a person. So I guess if I were to go hunting in those conditions, I would be intending to shoot, or I wouldnt be there. But the bottom line is no I would not shoot. Legal sure, ethical no.

I would in a heartbeat if I needed the meat. The deer in that neck of the woods look like they are in for windter starvation anyways. The more you take out of the herd the better the rest will come out of the winter yards.
Sporting? probably not, never bothered me I have always hunted to feed my family first, sport a distant second.

I wouldn't be out hunting in snow like that anyway...But, that being said, I wouldn't take the shot myself. No soap box...Just wouldn't do it. I can't imagine dragging one of those out. The 4 wheeler would be pretty much useless...Could use a sled of some sort. Where would you field dress it?
