Im thinking of hutning the early september season.I contacted the DEC region 5 and they gave me some suggestions . "Joel,
There is a lot of state forest preserve land in the Adirondacks that is all open
for hunting. To find state land maps, you can try the interactive map program on
the DEC website: www.dec.ny.gov/cfmx/extapps/statelands/. There are also
some very good printed maps available in outdoor retail shops that show state land.
One of the best is a series of Trails Illustrated maps produced by National Georgraphic
in conjunction with the Adirondack Mountain Club. They can be purchased online
at www.adk.org/new_store/category.aspx?categoryID=15. There is also
an electronic version of these maps at the same web address.
For easy access areas, you could try the state land along Rt. 3 between Saranac
Lake and Tupper Lake. The terrain near the road is pretty gentle and there are
good numbers of deer there. Another good spot would be the Moose River Plains Recreation
Area south of the village of Inlet. There is good road access and plenty of camping
spots." Im asking you guys for some also.I live downstate so my scouting for spots is not gonna be easy Im planning on going for aweek and try my luck Im looking at the lower areas of the daks5J,G,HWith all of my injuries i want to stick to more of the lower areas.Im not looking to steal anybodys spot but if ya got any tips or suggestions please post em up
