Hey gang, Just got off the phone with my neighbor in Howard, while on the phone he said 7 bucks walked into a clover field across from my place!!! Two were shooters! I am going up Wednesday with my two girls, going to the Steuben County fair in Bath and then getting some work out of them. We are planting two small food plots with secret spot! We have two great spots that we worked over late spring that is ready for planting. Will let you know how it turns out. The local farmer has most of his crop in corn this year, should be a dandy!!!!!! Burt

I was back up at my place in Howard last week, strange didn't see one deer. There is so much corn planted this year and it is very tall and getting mature, must be they don't need to move very much now hanging out in the corn.

Joel, We had low 70's for a high and low 50's for the low. Real nice weather, we planted two small food plots in the woods-secret spot. Will see how they do, will be back up in Sept to hang some stands and check out the plots.

Joel, I have about a 25 acre plot of corn on my property! I lease it to the local farmer. He had it in oats last year and corn the year before. I have a set up inside the woods next to the corn that I hope a big boy will be coming down!

Huntingfreak, That is wild so early in the season? but this puts my theory to test. I read an article that said the rut will happen 7-10 days after the full moon in October. Well we have a full moon which would bring the rut to happen right around the 25th! The article said this year the rut would happen the last week in October! with you seeing all that action maybe it will be true? I also did see rubs two weeks ago on my property, pretty good ones! I can't wait till Sat!!!!!!

Thats cool on the rutting activity you are seeing. Have not seen any knock down buck fights this year but am seeing scrapes here and there that are worked pretty good.
Season is almost here.
