where is the best place to put a trail cam. i just got one and im not really sure where to put it. i dont mean to sound stupid but what i am trying to say, is there certain things to look for when your setting up a cam? like water or certain plants, thick brush or open areas? i just want to get the most out of my cam. i appreciate the help.

Well the pics I have posted are where 2 trails come out of the woods and into a field edge. There is a crabapple tree that they frequent so I hung it there. I average about 150 to 200 pics every 4 days or so and that is with the settings set to 3 burst pics with a 1 minute timeout.
My suggestion is if you have a spot where you are seeing deer, or a trail where the prints go in either direction, set it up just off the trail or near a foodsource.
Hope this helps.
