I have a parker compound that i was practicing with prior to shooting a 3d course tonight. Right before i was going to shoot my brother said what happened to your string...It was broke. I used my buddies pearson to shoot the course and shot so well i ended up buying it. $550 for the whole set up: drop away rest, stabalizer, glow sights, the works.
I decided i am going to get the parker fixed as a backup.

That is a great Idea, how many times do you go into camp with only one bow? I had a backup for years but while moving one day a gust of wind lifted the case out of the back of my truck onto the road and a semi ran it over! As a joke we hung it on the wall calling it road kill! A back-up is a great idea!

I keep my old Browning wheel bow tuned up just in case my Pearson Spoiler Lite takes a dump...You just never know. I had a friend that snapped a string on his compound the night before the opener...He ran around for the entire morning of the opener trying to find a replacement string. He finally did, but his opener was ruined. Lesson learned...

Yep exactly what im trying to avoid. WNY: that pearson is an awesome bow though. I seem to shoot much tighter groups, but im wondering if my old parker was properly tuned.

Security blankets are nice to have when mama nature steals the covers. Question is,will it be proficiant in time of need? My primary bow gets all the attention pre- season while the back-up collects dust. Peace of mind is all it's worth to me and will most likely never walk in the woods with me again even should the need arrise. Fortunately I haven't had to dust off any cobwebs yet and she remains a conversation piece of stories of hunts gone by.. If you ask me it's hard to pick up where you left off with a blast from the past and there's a reason they are there or they'd have never been replaced.

Well it should be all set for this season cause i have been shooting it, but i hear what your saying. Probably after this year wont shoot it. Guy called today about it being done $40 bucks for a new string. Thought it was preaty reasonable.
