Well one property I hunt is one less a buck had two of my friends call me today to let me know about a road kill  . I'm gonna go take a look later to see which one it was. What a waste!!! |

Was it a shooter? Sucks this time of year. I remember a few years back we saw this big ten pt during bow but never got a shot. Saw him at gun season once, again didn't get a shot.We put on a drive during muzzle loading season and one of the guys hit him a bit high, we tracked for some time and lost him. A few days after season there was a big road kill deer right by our hunting property so we took a look and it was a big buck that had shed his horns the bases
had to be 5" round and yes upon further examination he had a bullet wound in the area my buddy said he hit him, what a shame! (never found the sheds)

Yea its about that time of year where you start seeing the road kills. They start getting horny and active and WHAMO... but hey thats what us hunters are for...reducing the numbers so there are less accidents or atleast thats what i tell PETA.

No he wasnt a shooter but he was a nice year and a half old buck no mass but he was a tall 6pt. It wasn't but 150 yards from my stand he would have been nice to watch while wait on stand.

I saw two road kills last week right at the cold snap.
Seeing a bunch more deer moving in fields.
Have a whole bunch more activity on the trail cam.
It's gettting close now...Love this time of year.

Oh yea blood is pumpin. Going 3d shooting tmro. Also westfalls conservation club is having a big 3d shoot this sunday if anyone is interested. Located on bridge st off 240 in westfalls NY. Near colden and orchard park.

I have seen a few road the past couple weeks . Seems kinda early for any chasing . I think they are just careless ...
