Been pretty good so far. I filled both of my Doe tags and filled two signed over Doe tags as well. Only looking for a buck at this point.
I have killed deer this season with the Rem 870 12 gauge, Remington 870 20 Gauge and with my S&W .44. Closest shot was at 10 yards, longest shot has been at 150 yards this season.
Have not seen a single buck yet or else I may be done hunting.... ;D
I really love hunting with the 20 gauge. Man that thing shoots great and is light. The hole that it makes from copper solids is nearly the size of a 12 gauge. It makes a huge hole. I have friends that killed a 6 point this week, 7 point , 9 point and 10 point. the 9 and 10 point were really nice. The 10 had a 22 inch spread.
Neighbor shot a monster 7 point, laying out in the middle of the field. Was not wounded either, was just laying there go figure....never got that one on camera....really nice deer, about a 20 inch spread but huge deer.
All in all good season so far.
Jon

Wife had a great time. She saw deer. Had some close. She did not think they were great shots so she let them walk. Can't blame her for thinking like that. Her (our) Aunt that joined us shot at a very, very nice 8 point. She missed it. My wife saw that deer as well, was 25 yards away in the wide open... It happens I suppose. Wife really loves it though. Had my 13 yr old daughter out with me on the one day I shot two. She got to see them come out all 4 deer, she saw me shoot the 2 deer of the 4 and then she also got to see a 3rd one die in that bunch as the remaining two ran down to one of the others standers and freind from Church. He shot that deer. It ran to about 15 yards away from him. That was his first deer ever. Was a great day. We shot 3 out of the 4 deer and the daughter got to see it all. Her reponse "Cool, I can't wait until i can do this next year" My response "I can't wait either" There is a transformation happening with me. I like to hunt don't get me wrong but taking kids out and watching there excitement is becoming more exciting to me than me shooting deer myself. I have done more drives for kids this year so they can see deer. It is very rewarding... God has been very good to us this year. God is always good and has always been good to me, but he has really blessed out hunting this year. Our group has shot many deer. Jon

jon, I have yet to take my daughters hunting but they love venison, right now I am cooking stew and my oldest one goes to the pot stealing the meat! I was saying the same thing this year, brought along a few new hunters to the camp and I was so happy that they scored and it didn't matter to me if I got one. That will change if I don't score this weekend ;D I will be up after thanksgiving and the last weekend of muzzleloader. It's great you have a hunting family!

Rob, I need to download them but yup I will send to you shortly. Story here is the same. Yesterday saw 2 Doe. Today saw 3 Doe in the morning and 5 Doe in the evening. Differant places..... So I am seeing a bunch of deer but still yet to see horns during the gun season. Were doing drives all around tomarrow with our group from Church so that will be around 6-8 people. Hoping to actually see horns tomarrow ;D, well at least hoping for somebody to. My season has been great so even if I do not get a buck during gun it will be no biggee. I got a buck during bow anyhow. It is ironic how all during bow I saw tons of bucks and no Does. Now it is just the exact opposite. I found out one of the giants I was after was slain 125 yards away where I had been hunting hard for him. He was killed on a night this week when I decided to hunt another property. Glad for the guy that got him. He was a big guy. Would like to see my wife get a deer that would be very cool. Tried my very hardest to put 2 in front of her yesterday but they veered off.

Well the total for the couple of guy I hunt with is 4 bucks and 12 doe. I'm still waiting for a shooter buck. The one I was hunting turned out to be a 150 inch 10 pt shot by some yahoo doing a drive wtf oh well everybody gets lucky now and then. There is still a huge 8 pt and another big one with a drop I'm hoping to cross pathes with.
