Well this past weekend was beautiful, especially Saturday but of course I had to work. So my BIL called and said it will be nice Sunday so lets go out. We got up and headed to some State land not far from the house with shotguns in hand. Didn't really care what we saw but was hoping for some bunnies or grouse.
Got there and the wind was a mere 30mph and gusting. We put a few miles on the boots and saw one squirrel 5 minutes into the walk. Spent 3.5 hours getting some good exercise and saw tons of rabbit, deer, fox, and yote tracks. Sign everywhere. Was glad to finally get out. Had my eyes open for sheds as well but no luck. Did find one dead deer carcass by the road and parking area someone left and some remnants of a bird that got eaten by something on one of the main snowmobile trails.
Hope everyone is doing well this winter. Only a few more months and the turkeys will be in trouble, somewhere!!!
