Any of you guys planning on heading out on the 1'st? Weather permitting I'm planning on hitting Cazenovia Creek, Cattaraugus and hopefully a first trip to Ishua Creek. Seems as the years go by I find myself enjoying this little creek fishing thing more and more. The opener can get crazy with anglers so I never expect too much out of it far as big pressured browns in the popular curb side holes, but I sure am looking forward to getting back to some holes I know some nice ones were caught and released last year! Hell, I just like seeing everyone having fun out there and taking advantage of the put and take oppertunity offered for us all to enjoy no matter what their skill level on these hungry stockers! After that it's time to get serious, lol! Good luck fellas if ya get out there!

Just realized yesterday that it happens to fall on my day off this year so I told my buddy I was heading out and he had the nerve to call me an A-hole in front of my daughter, lol. I said yup, an A-hole who will be fishing while you are at work. Looking forward to it if the weather cooperates.

Wooly - you still chasing after them stockies? You might just as well head to Price Chopper and get a big slab of liver - they taste about the same. ;D
Will be hitting a few feeder streams first thing on the opener - then probably hit the Genny (beer and the stream) later in the day. Good luck fellas.

Think you may be on the wrong kinda "brown trout" if ya know what I mean! I don't recommend eating "floaters" of either kind so best advise I can give ya is target the "9 inch "freshies" that make a splash and you'll have a 50/50 shot at some decent table fare! Pop a top 4 me bro!

I made it out but the fish weren't biting for me, a couple buddies of mine caught a couple nice browns, a 17 and 1/2 and a 21 and 3/4 inchers. Supposed to get another inch or so of rain today- creeks are still pretty high from that last batch we had. The ice is finally off my lake, I'll be getting the pontoon boat up there this week for some crappies. So at least if the cricks are high, I can go to the lake and still get some fishin in.

I forgot about the warm up and how much snow we got. The meltdown made the creeks ugly brown. Maybe durring the week.

my brother went out opening day up at Lake Alice in Waterport. He didn't get anything there then hit up Point Breeze and didn't catch a thing either.
