Hey all - just needed to vent on my bad week.
My daughter got sick Sunday night, throwing up every 2 hours. My wife had a test at the hospital at 8am, so I called in sick to work for Monday. Went to work Tuesday. Just before bed Tuesday night I was feeling right and followed in my daughters footsteps, throwing up 8 times between 1030pm and 430am. I lost my voice from it. I was off Wednesday but was exhausted. Called in sick on Thursday as well as I still was feeling ill.
Got a call from my boss around 10 am Thursday with bad news. The company I work for sold to another company, They are keeping all the people at the stores but are closing the warehouse which I am the manager of. The transaction will be complete in 90 days. Hopefully unemployment will carry me through hunting season. Thats my positive out of the whole ordeal. Thx for reading my vent. Keep your heads up all, cuz you never know when it can happen.

Zemm, I am so sorry to hear the news. I hope you and you daughter are feeling better. As for the job, right now it sucks but you have to put it into perspective. You may say that is easy for me to say but just today I had a long conversation with a coworker who kind of knows he is going to be laid off. I know for a fact he will be but could not confirm this too him. We both talked about or lives and where they have gotten us. He then told me about his friend that has terminal cancer. Her boy graduated college this year and she told him that was one the thing in life she wanted to see. It kept her spirits high something to live for. My coworker looked at me and said I have my wife a home and my health, everything will be fine. Keep your head up, push forward and look for new opportunities. Just a thought-I am getting myself involved (investing) in the alternative energy sector. This is going to be big, maybe look up some of the wind co's in the area that are putting up wind turbines. All over America people are going to have to reinvent themselves, check out this field, it's worth a shot. My best to you good luck, Burt

Thx Burt - After returning to work and seeing the mood around here, it was an eye opener. I sat with the owner for a few minutes and was told personally that because of my position I could expect 4 to 5 months tops instead of 3 months. Shipping stops in 3 months and then clean up and sell off of equipment. So that takes me to October, right in time to collect and enjoy the enitre bow season which would be great but most likely won't happen as such but I'm still working on the wife with that dream. I guess I'm not as worried as this just happened 2 years ago, but it does suck for all involved. Thanks again for the thoughts.
