So I was shooting the bow the other day. Last year I was a little erratic during target practice. Well I found out my issue. My arrow rest , an older HHA drop away, has the 2 prongs that hold the arrow. Well they are thin and bendable. I went to draw back and my arrow fell through in between them. I squeezed them back together and continued shooting and I was all over. They continued to seperate until another arrow slipped through them hitting the built in rest.
So I am scrambling around and my BIL says he has a whisker biscuit sitting in his garage I could have. I was like sweet so I dorve up and got it. Put it on and guess what, won't work. My bow has a 3 inch overdraw and a short brace height. Only way I can use it is to refletch all my arrows to 2 inch vanes from 4 inch.
Ran it past the wife tonight at dinner and I get my first unemployment payment this week so she said I could tap our savings to buy a new rest. Going to get another drop away but I'm still bummed that I have to be doing this now only 10 days away from the opener. Good thing is I have plenty of free time to re tune once I get the new rest.
Knew I shouldn't have told the wife I was all set this year and didnt need to buy anything. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Sorry to hear about your trouble Zemmer. Do you have time to post a close-up pic of your bow/rest?

Well here is my predicament with the Whisker Biscuit. This is the only way I could mount it. I tried every possible idea and this was the only way to make it work. I have zero clearance for the vanes here. Here is a pic of the bow with the old rest on it Here are some pics of the rest off the bow. These are the issue

Well problem solved, thank goodness. I knew I couldn't go into the woods this year with my rest like that and wondering when it would fail so I bought a new one today. Went to Gander and bought a NAP Quicktune 800. Have to say that even though its on the lower end, it works awesome. Just shot with my neighbor at 10 yds and had all 3 arrows within an inch. Now to fine tune it the rest of the week and I should be ready to go. Thanks again for listening to my rant.

Sorry to hear that Freak. Hope you get things all set to go soon.
I have to admit I haven't shot much this year as things were winding down at work before we closed. I've been off for 3 weeks and the honey-do list is almost finished so now I can concentrate on getting things ready. I shot again today and had two super tight groups at 15yds so my confidence is way up from what it was. Havent checked my cam in 2 weeks so I think I will visit it Sunday morning for the last time just to see if there has been anything coming by. Its been very slow thus far for pics.
Good news is that gun camp should be ready to go early. We are headed down tomorrow afternoon to cut wood and mow and make any last minute repairs.

I am glad that you were able to work it out with a new rest. I was going to strip the rest off my old PSE, which has an overdraw, and donate it to the cause. However, after looking at your pics and my old bow, it would not have fit anyways. Knock 'em dead this weekend.
