Update- Thursday went back out to Bliss in the AM but knew I had to be in downtown Buffalo at 2 to close on my new house. Set up about 25 yards deeper than I was before and just off of a logging trail. It was a frigid morning around 25 degrees with a nice frost on the ground. Jumped 1 going into the woods and she blew at me. Around 6:15 had one move through fast but could not see. 7:15 had 4 doe come to about 35 yards and the largest offered a broadside shot. We decided to take a doe but as I was about to shoot I heard something coming hard and fast from the opposite direction. I assumed it was the same 4 point that I had passed on before but it ended up being my new friend for the next hour... A little button buck who came right up to my tree and hung out with me. I have a good video of him and pictures I will try to post if I can figure it out. Hopefully Friday will have some more action in the swamps as I have a few hours in the evening to sit.

Thanks. Not sure if I will touch the state land this first week... My mom lives near there and every year the road it bumper to bumper with hunters from the city funneling into the woods. I should just line up 500 feet from the road around 8:30 and wait for the weekend warriors to come out to their trucks ;-)

Definately use them to your advantage but becareful not to put yourself in those "weekend warriors" path. They may not be as safe as you and think about what is beyond their target. Good Luck out there.

Only got out one day so far and it was a bust. My SIL decided when she let the dogs out to grab my gear and bring it in the house. Little did she know that they GLADE plugin she placed them next to would ruin my day. Saw nothing. My brother saw 6 doe and a decent 6 bust me at about 100 yards in the woods (about 150 from where he was set up on the field edge) Moving into the house/ hunting has become a hassle this year. NEVER use Devere mortgage out of Lancaster... I was supposed to close in September so i would have time to move then hunt and they ended up closing the second week in Bow. Hopefully get a few more days if not i'll have to break out the TC

Unfortunately did not make it out that much during gun. My brother had all week off and had an amazing experience on Tuesday that I have to share. He is a CO so he swapped and had most of the season off from work (must be nice) On Tuesday they were pushing private farms in the Town of Batavia and man did me mess up. During a push 5 large doe came piling out of a block of woods towards him. He landed one shot in the rear of the first doe and unloaded the rest. As he was grabbing more shells, the largest typical buck I have ever seen ( his friend has trail pics) came chasing after the doe. A monster 13 point easy 160 class buck!!! He ended up dropping all of his shells and gun in shock. From what I was told he could have thrown his knife at the thing it was so close. Needless to say I called in sick Wednesday and we pushed every block of woods on Wednesday within a 3 mile radius and only found his tracks. Did get a chance to see 2 coyotes push a doe, one being the largest coyote I've ever seen ~ 75 lbs all black with a white face. My buddy threw a few at him but he was fast for a slob. Will possibly sit next Thursday with muzzle and hopefully get to see this guy in real life. I am working on getting the trail cam pic of this deer so you can see for yourself how big of a deer it was!!! Also friends stepdad took down this guy in Lyndonville opening day thedailynewsonline.com/articles/2009/11/23//sports/6206653.img

ok it was fast but I got some pictures for you guys. The first deer is from Batavia trail cam that my brother got buck fever on and didn't get a shot off... the second my BIL's cousin shot in Wellsville. He has two trophies judging by the photo ;-)
