Three face DEC charges
DEC Enforcement Officers Josh Crain and William Powell reported the arrest of three individuals following the shooting of two bucks in a farmers field in the Town of Ontario.
According to DEC police, Daniel Craft, age 49 of Mason Road in Ontario was charged with two counts each of a Loaded Gun in a Motor Vehicle, Taking an Illegal Deer, and Taking a Deer withÂout a proper tag. Craft admitted that, while on a farm harvester, he shot two bucks on two consecutive days. His wife, Nora Craft was charged with providing an illegal tag for one of the deer.
Mark Knapp, age 43 of Downs Road in Walworth was given one ticket for Accessory to Taking an Illegal Deer.
According to DEC officials, deer often ignore, and are not afraid of, farm equipment operating in fields.
