I went up to my place a few times in May and have never seen so much deer road kill than this year. I'm on 17 for a good 250 miles and lost count on the dead deer I've seen. Anyone got an explanation???

I can help here.....Deer stood in the road and a car or truck hit it!!
If you need any more help, please let me know... ;D
Seriously, I have noticed the same thing on 390 from Geneseo to Rochester. Dont know why, but there appears to be a tremendous number of deer around all the sudden.
I just bought a small woodlot and the entire area is absolutely infested with deer. I have hunted close to this area for many years and never saw the kind of numbers I am seeing now. Evidence of bears in the area is also abundant.
When you figure it out please post it here cause I dont understand where they all came from..

I guess we're not doing a great job in the woods? ?? Someone explained that it was doe looking for areas to drop fawns but half the deer were bucks. The car truck thing is a start!

I drove to Geneseo last Thursday . I counted 14 roadkill deer on the round-trip . There was an article in our local paper last week where a Trooper responded to a report of a motorist hitting a deer on Knickerbocker here in Ontario . The doe died and two fawns were born premature . The Trooper made a call to some animal control person and he took the fawns away .

It's bad enough seeing dead deer along the road but today really bothered me . I saw a dead fawn in the middle of the road on Bloomfiel just north of Canfield .
