My youngest son , Nick , shot a doe at 4:14 pm yesterday down at his brother's camp off Italy Valley Road . Nick is 28 and it is his 1st year of Bow & Gun hunting . I sighted his brother's Mossberg Ultra Mag in a couple weeks ago . Nick shot her through the shoulder and the slug exited through the doe's neck at 12 yards . He said she flopped so he put another slug in her head . He was quite excited and I told him to send me pics . Got another son addicted to deer hunting ! ;D ;D

It's never too old to start-congratulations! I have a camp in Howard NY and what scares me is that there are not many young hunters coming up the ranks. The youngest hunter I saw this year was late 20's. I have two girls 3.5 and 8. This year my 8 yr old is getting a youth bow for Christmas. She wants to shoot with me so maybe this will lead to hunting with me. I am also going to get a two person stand this year and designate a spot on the property for it. I want it to be available for any young hunter with supervision that comes to my camp. I have a good friend that does not hunt but his 13yr old wants to so this would be prefect for them. Keep safe and let the young ones walk!
