Hello again. I am so looking forward to the start of bow season here in the southern tier. It has really sneaked up on me. I have been shooting well and the game cam is showing some promise. But wow I usually have all my gear ready by now. I got to get a move on this week!!
I am working hard on the "Honey Do List" so it will be mostly complete by Saturday. If it would just stay dry long enought for me to get the last mow of the season in tomorrow will help!
The weather looks great for the weekend. This has got me more excited than usual. Possible snow Friday night!! I hate hunting in hot weather so this looks nice.
I will be hunting my usual spots with my two brothers and my Dad will join us in gun season. May even get my uncle and cousin down for gun which will be nice they have not been down in quite a few years due to other obligations.
As usual I plan to get out a lot and hope to get the kids (9 and 7) out with me some as well. I hope you all have a great season and enjoy my ramblin on about this thing we love so much.

Ha thanks Burt, not easy coming up with a different name for deer every year and three words that start in the same letter. Harder every year!!
Well got the lawn done today. That will be the last of the year. Got the hunting clothes all washed and started getting the gear organized. I may be ready yet by Sat am.
Bring it.

10/17 am 30 degrees
Well was a nice morning, bumped one going in before light. Got up in the tree and sat for 2.5 hours and had seen two grouse, 2 herons or cranes or whatever they are, and a hawk. Got up to strtch at 9:30 and sat back down and a minute later hear walking off to my right and see a small doe walking through the brush. She hit where I walked in and I am not sure if she cought my scent or saw me move but she busted me and did the foot stompin and blowing and finally ran off blowin all the way. Nice! Sat another half hour and nada. My brother saw two small bucks from his stand.

10/19 am 28 degrees
Out behind the house the morning. Chilly out. Bumped one going in. Got up into my stand and a few minutes later I hear running up the ridge. Saw a flash of one going through the trees and heard at least one other. It was pretty dark and no idea what they where running for/from. About 7:30 I hear walking and spot a small doe cutting through below me about 100 yards. 15 minutes later I see a deer out a ways and put the binocs on it, looks to be a little 4 or 5 point he works towards and by me to the left about 60 yards out. Sat till 9 and bugged out for work. Nice morning will try to sneak back out later.

I hear ya Fletch but it's early. I am in a quandry with this warmup for tomorrow. Supposed to be 60 to 65 and the wife said I could hunt. DO I go out and enjoy the warm temps and probably not see a deer or do I stay home?

Get out in the am and sit 3 or 4 hours. Then take the rest of the day taking pics of your deer!!
I plan on getting out in the am then bag the afternoon.
