2 blade, 3 blade are illegal in NY. I have had good luck with them.

I may just keep the dogs around. I am seeing more deer than ever!! ;D Just a bit ago I go to see what the dog is barking at. She is leashed out back. I open the door and holler at her to shut up and she keeps barkin. After like two minutes I hear something and look up to see a big deer a$$ going out of the back lawn. Funny thing is she was barkin for like 5 minutes before I got out there! I think my deer are attracted to dogs!!

i think page 21 of this years hunting guide states that mechanical broadheads that do not remain or form a barb upon removal from dear or bear are legal so with that i think the rage 3 blade could be legal

I had the same issue with the Rage 3, guy at D1cks said they were legal but technically they are supposed to lock out and become barbed. It is a fine line that I don't really feel like walking so mine have turned into practice tips. I tell you what though that 3 tore a hole the size of my hand it was amazing. I wish the DEC would release a list every year with models instead of hand drawn pictures it would be much easier.

I talked to an ECO last year who told me the 3 was illegal and the two legal. I also had a email from an ECO explaining this. I posted it last year. When I get a minute I will see if I can dig it up.

11/3 am 44 degrees
In my hang on behind the house. At 6:55am I had a visit from my wonderful dogs> They were about 150 yards down from me right under my perminate stand. I only stayed 1.5 hours I am getting sick of this dog thing. No deer sighted.
I did talk to the dog control guy yesterday he seems not too bright. I also talked to an ECO and he can not help unless I know who owns them. He just told me I could not shoot them, thanks I new that. I will be talking to the dog control guy again today.
We will see.
Oh I forgot to write the coolest thing that happened Sunday morning. Not hard since did not see any deer!
I am in my climber and it is just getting a pinch lighter out. I am sitting waiting for it to get lighter and not paying much mind to anything. All the sudden I catch sight of a big shape coming right at me from front right. Rememeber I am in a climber 25 feet up a tree so this alarms me. I of course swing my head up in that direction and realize it is an owl!! It must have seen my hand moving or something and figured I was a meal. He/she was only like 10 or 12 feet from me when it saw me move and realized I was bigger than anticipated. Sucker had like a 2 foot wing span. It then landed in a tree about 20 feet from me and gave me a dirty look for about 5 minutes before flying off.
Too cool, I was prey!!!!
