11/9 am 41f Very nice morning. Saw a deer crossing the road on the way to the woods. And my wife almost got a nice 10 point near Auburn last night with her van so maybe they are starting to move a bit more. About 7am I hear the footsteps coming and a little buck is coming right to me. He is about 18 yards broadside walking. He is so close I do not want to bleat to stop him so I shoot him walking. broke both shoulders and he piled up in less than 50 yards. With 5 days left to bow season I could not let another one walk by me!! The rage left a huge hole in the deer and I am really happy with them and my new bow!!

My thoughts exactly Burt! My freezer was getting alarmingly low!! I had one shot at a doe way back first week and it was a group of 4 and I did not want to educate the rest of them so soon in the season!! Then the only shots I have had were at young bucks. That was the 23rd deer sighted so far in 67 hours on stand.
I will be back to passing the young bucks for another month now. Looking for a couple does and maybe a big boy with a little luck.

pm got out for an hour behind the house. Getting colder and even a tease of a couple of snowflakes. Unreal I have not had any snow stick yet! I can not remember ever going through a bow season without one day at least with snow on the ground. The deer always seem like kids with that first snow running all over. Well anyway saw nothing.
It was real nice sleepin in for a bit this morning. ;D

Congrats on the buck Fletch. He looks a little like the one I got last year which I just made a nice batch of stew out of. Yum Yum!!!! We had a dusting of snow 2 Wednesdays ago and there is a dusting on the grass here today. It spit and sputtered all day here. I hope it continues through Wednesday as it will be my last chance effort.
Sounds like a nice set up. Quick question, is that the exit wound? Just curious.

That would be the entrance wound. It went through and broke first shoulder through boiler room through and broke second shoulder and stopped on the hide on the far leg. I did not get a pass through but with breaking both shoulders I can not complain!!
