Thanks, I hope my persistance pays off. It usually does. Every year after the first day or two I go on a streak of deerless days. One recent year I remember going 10 or 12 days!! Yikes. 11/20 pm out in a different stand behind house for 2.5 hours and another strike. 0 I did have 3 walk across the tracks I went in on this morning. Well I guess the good news is deer were actually within a few hundred yards of me!!! The new streak is at 4 days now......

11/22 19f snow snow and snow, got to have 14-16 inches on the ground at least. Man I am dog tired. Hunted all day hard. We did put up a couple but never did see one. Someone not in our group of three got a shot at one we put up. Met a couple new DEC guys. Second time this year we all got checked out, they were good guys. Ha streak at 6 days, I am about ready to white towel it and take up shopping!!!! On a good note I have lost over ten pounds since the season started! Everything is starting to hurt now!!

Don't give up just yet. There is still plenty of time left. My neighbor went out today and they did drives most of the day. Ended up pushing almost 50 deer around all day. He had 7 come in before a drive even started and another guy had 3 bucks come in before the same drive all together. They are out there but we don't have as much snow here, maybe and inch or two. Went shopping tonight, DON"T DO IT MAN!!!!!but I did get myself a bore snake for the rifle.

11/23 am 16f arfin cold!
Was not sure I was going to make the sore body out of bed but I did. My brother took the day off he has a bad back from a car accident so he was nursing that. So it was me my BIL and our uncle. We sat for a couple hours in the am and saw zip. We did have a few interesting track though so we did a couple drives. We put a coulple deer up but really needed a forth guy. We put up one deer we never saw but it had a huge track and dragging all four legs like a lazy big buck! We put him past our uncle about 10 yards farther than he could see. We tried to get around it but just managed to put it out across the road and through a big open field next to a big state land parking lot! Boy it was a BIG track we were close!
Did not hunt last watch due to other obligations.
7 day streak!! woohoo!

Did not get out Monday. First day back to work was not fun and one kid was home sick and the other had a half day. I needed the recharge.
11/25 am 34f rain
Out back for 1.5 hours, I actually bumped one coming out and I actually saw a deer!!! Small flat top I did not have a shot anyway. I was a bit slow, I saw where the deer had started running so I figured it was gone. It actually was in the brush and took off right across in front of me at 50 yards or so. I hit another fresh track bigger than that one going into the neibors thickets the wrong way..
Well got that over with now I can get back to filling the freezer!!

11/26 pm
Got out behind the house for a couple. I just got down to a spot where I sit in a blow down and kicked the snow and leaves off to clear a spot and knockin the snow off the log I sit on. I just sit down and my email is vibrating my Blackberry. I am writing an email and I hear some crashing behind me and I am convinced it is snow falling off the pines. Too noisy for a deer and I just sat down none to quietly plus I was hearing and watching the snow fall the whole walk in.. So I do not even look around. Then I hear steps, sheeet! I turn slightly and behind me at 40 feet is a doe and a fawn. They new something was not right and we had the 5 minute standoff and then they turned and headed away. At about 60 yards the doe turned broadside and gave me a nice shot opportunity. Only problem was by then she was 20 feet onto the neighbors posted property so they are still safe.
Stupid me and stupid emails..... I know not very pure with my Blackberry in the woods but I would rather be in the woods than the office!!
I got good vibes for this long weekend. We are gonna lay some down!
Happy Turkey Day all!!

Turkey Day! 34f 4 of us out this am and not a hair. We did one of our more productive drives with two driving and 2 watching. We put two at my brother who was sitting on an old barrel. The deer are running right at him he puts the crosshairs on the leads chest and right when he pulls the trigger he goes ass over teakettle off the barrel!! Missed the deer, gun falls on his on his face and the scope cover gave him a big gash above his eye. He is not having a good season!! He did not think it was anywhere near as funny as we did!! ;D Nothin on last watch.
