I left PA at 9:30pm Friday night and got home about 2am Saturday morning, in bed by 2:20am. Did not even take luggage out of work truck. Just went up and turned on the boot warmer and hit the sack for a glorious 2 hours of sleep as the alarm went off at 4:20 am. Met up with my brother for the 50 minute trip to Tully which I had just driven by at 1:07 am going north!! Had 4 of us out for am watch and nothing. They still had 5 or 6 inches of snow and it was super crunchy!! We decide to do a drive and did the first one and there was a lot of old track and no deer. When walkin back out I notice a very deer shape off to my left beddied in front of three pines about 40 or so yards back in the woods off the trail. I pull up and scope it and it sure looks like a deer but I still am not positive. My BIL is standing next to me and asking "where?" and I am like "right there" so he gives me his gun with a 7x scope on it and I pull that up and yup it is a doe laying broadside just pegged on us. She is not even twitching an ear. I give him his gun back and get mine and pull up and popper her. She took off and ran about 50 yards and piled up. Crazy! She new we were there and we were talking and looking at her for over 3 minutes before I shot her. She was hoping to lay still and let us walk by! She went 113 pounds dressed. Will get pic up later. pm nobody saw a thing.

12/7 am cold 2 of us were behind the house this morning. I let a small one go by early heading towards my brother. Saw another 300 yards up behind me for just a brief look. Not sure what it was. My brother saw the one I let by. At the same time he had a big one 200 yards up the ridge in front of him. He could not call it in and by that time the first one was on the neighbors side. We went over to my inlaws to do a drive with my brother in law. While driving I ran into a yote and hit him hard. He went down and then popped up and took off. We had fresh snow so we followed him into the drive and after the drive we followed him up and I finished him off.

The song dogs need a little thinning in a couple places I hunt.

Back behind the house for a bit. After this morning 18 seemed like a heat wave!! Looks like some interesting weather coming over the next couple of days. Looks like a lot of wind and rain/sleet/snow.

Wow it was 48 and raining this am. Decided to pass and get out longer before dark. Had an inch of new snow since all the old melted. Nothing doing.

Thanx Burt.
12/11 am 20f
It was just a beautiful morning. Cold but not rediculous, not any wind, about an inch of snow which was loud enough to hear a deer walking but not like super crunch the other day. The only thing missing was the deer!! Another coyote is working this area hard, tracks all over! For its sake it better avoid me!!
