Yes, I don't think these guys are going to make it far in the next few weeks. I hope they stay together so people won't shoot but you never know. Someone already asked if I thought the cubs would make it without the mother. Boy are they messing with the corn, they just tear down a circle of about 20' and eat it all up!

but even if they dont stay together your not allowed to shot a cub anyway and you cant shot a bear unless you wait and see that no cubs are following behind. you can only shot a bear when its alone and after you have waited enough to make sure that the bear is alone. a mother bear always travels with her cubs. the bow hunter who shot the cub did it illeagally. a cub is a cub and no matter what can not be taken.

When I was bear hunting in New Brunswick, I heard the same rules, no shooting a sow with cubs, and no shooting cubs. I had three bears at my bait (legal in NB) and didn't shoot the sow because she was with "cubs". I got some good video footage, and when I showed it to my guide, he told me all three bears were legal. The youngsters were a year old, and about 60 lbs, and getting ready to be kicked to the curb by momma, as she was ready to breed again. She had a nice coat of fur to her, If I knew then what I knew later, I would have shot her. A 135 lb bear is NOT A CUB.

thought so, those cubs were about that weight. I heard the cubs stay with the sow for two years, any comments?

i guess its a matter of opinion, 135lbs isnt that big of a bear, they cant be more then 4 feet tall at that weight.
