Well the season is over and it was a good one. I have heard of many big buck falling this year, just heard a 170 class buck killed on long Island! I saw a picture of a 160 class buck up by me (not the one I saw) that was beautiful. This weekend was great, cold still and a real good way to end the year. I saw three doe Sat morning could of took the two small ones but let them go. Saw them again today but let them go to grow up, one was a button. The farmer left about 4 acres of corn on the field so we had alot of action. Definitely found 4 sets of tracks that were bucks-see you next year! It was great getting my brother back up to camp, of course he shoots the big one after a 13 year layoff! Saw some really nice deer and by the looks of things 2009 will be a good one. We are already thinking about food plots and probably will try turnips this year. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday season! My best to you all, Burt

Congrats on a great season. Enjoyed your posts as well. Happy Holidays to you and your family. We'll have to have dinner sometime at the Blue Dolphin or at least meet at the gas station to say hey.

Thanks guys, Fletch the purchase of my property 3 years ago has payed off so well, the enjoyment of owning your own land and harvesting from it, nurturing it and being able to control what goes on during hunting season is great. Good luck on the search. Zemm I will let you know when I am coming through. It's funny now but every time I pass your exit and see the field you hunt I yell "good luck Zem" and probably will be doing it for as long as I do the "drive by." Be well guys!

We went out looking for sheds on Monday but didn't find any. What we did find was plenty of bear sign! I am starting to get a bit uncomfortable walking around with my two girls with all the bear around. Talked to a local guy and he said he had the big male about forty yards from him over the summer said it had to go over 500 lbs. That is the same one we have been seeing in our area. Time for a pistol permit!
